"I had a network of 80 people that were like me; this network became invaluable as together we continued grad school, taught classes, wrote papers, and ventured out into the job market. They have been a support system and a resource for teaching materials, advice, methods considerations... the list just goes on and on." – Erica
Our Summer Institute for Social and Personality Psychology is a two-week intensive summer program that engages 100 pre-doctoral psychology students through education and professional networking. SISPP students immerse themselves in a psychology course of their choosing and participate in group collaboration through in-depth workshops. This is a life changing program that allows students to not only collaborate with one another, but make lifelong connections with experts and expand their understanding of Personality and Social Psychology. Our SISPP alumni are now prevalent across academia as well as private companies such as Facebook and Uber.
Erica is a proud SISPP alumni and has used the experience to further her own research in collaboration with her SISPP peers and colleagues.
"Spending two weeks focused on generating new ideas and meeting new people to collaborate with was the best experience I had in grad school. I developed new lines of research and collaborated with other attendees (I can't even say how many papers, symposia, and grant applications came out of the collaborations formed during those two weeks!). I'm very glad they have recently expanded the number of participants from 80 to 100, every student that gets to attend is one more student that will be inspired and supported."
This year, we've expanded the program from 80 to 100 pre-doctoral students. If you are interested in paying it forward and supporting the next generation of students, researchers, and future leaders in Personality and Social psychology, please consider making a gift today.
