The Department of Psychology at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology, beginning Fall 2017. This is a one year, non-tenure track position, with the option to apply for a tenure-track position.

Responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 9 credits per semester (typically 3 courses per semester), engaging with students, providing statistical analytical methods advising for undergraduate and graduate student thesis projects, opportunity for participating in on-going research projects, engaging in departmental faculty meetings, and supporting our culture of collegiality.

Applications will be reviewed starting June 23, and the position will remain open until filled. 
A Doctorate degree in Psychology, or related area, by time of appointment. Area of specialization is open. The ideal candidate will have a specialization in social or personality psychology, and preference will be given to those with evidence of research and scholarship. Applications are encouraged from those with the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology using innovative methods. The ideal candidate will have experience in statistical design and the application of data analytical methods to psychological research.

The ideal candidate can teach undergraduate courses including Experimental Design & Statistical Inference, and graduate courses including Experimental Design 1, Experimental Design 1 Lab, and Experimental Design 2. Visiting Assistant Professors typically teach a 3-2 course load during the academic year.
