Position Type: Full-Time, in-person, 24-month appointment

Funding: Full time salary commensurate with experience including benefits. Depending on research interests, specific funding opportunities available.

The Deepest Beliefs Lab at The Ohio State University, directed by Dr. Kurt Gray, investigates the psychological mechanisms behind people's core beliefs, moral judgments, and mind perception.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to lead projects on moral psychology. The ideal candidate will know about innovative methods and be excited to apply those to enduring questions about our moral world. Potential topics including perceptions of victimhood, moral condemnation, religion and morality, and human–AI interactions.

Key responsibilities include:

·      Design, execute, and analyze studies.

·      Lead manuscript preparation and grant/report drafting.

·      Collaborate with Dr. Gray and co-mentor graduate and undergraduate trainees.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will have the opportunity to work directly with leading scholars of the Collaborative on the Science of Polarization and Misinformation (C-SPAM). This includes potentially being co-mentored by one of C-SPAM’s affiliates and being connected to a network of collaborators and visiting scholars across disciplines.  

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology or a related field prior to the start date, and have a strong publication record focused on moral psychology. Advanced quantitative skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to mentoring are key.
