Description
The Department of Psychology at Haverford College seeks to hire a full-time (equivalent of a total of five courses across the year) Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology for the 2026-2027 academic year. There is the possibility of renewal for a second year pending a successful review and continued department staffing needs. Candidates whose expertise intersects with Social, Cultural, Developmental, or Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and are able to teach Introductory Psychology and Research Methods and Statistics are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be able to teach effectively at all levels of the psychology curriculum, including introductory, intermediate, and advanced seminar courses in their area of expertise. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to engaging a diverse student body and creating an inclusive classroom environment in a liberal arts context.
Qualifications
The position begins August 31, 2026 for the fall semester of 2026, and it is expected that the Ph.D. will be completed prior to the start date (although ABD candidates will be considered).
