POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Postdoctoral Scholar - Employee

The UCLA Marriage and Close Relationships Lab invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position to advance research on how close relationships (with romantic partners, family, and friends) influence subjective well-being. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects while developing independent research ideas within the domains of relationship science and well-being science. The position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, mentoring students, and contributing to high-impact publications based on our large existing datasets.

The UCLA Department of Psychology is renowned for excellence in teaching, research, and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is part of the Division of Life Sciences in the College of Letters and Science, serving a vibrant community of scholars and students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct collaborative research with faculty, students, and external consultants to produce peer-reviewed publications.
• Collect and analyze data.
• Mentor and oversee undergraduate research assistants.
• Present findings at workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Contribute to the intellectual community at UCLA through active participation in departmental activities.
• Assist in lab management and administration.

Position Details:

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications
• Ph.D. in Social Psychology or a related field by the start date.
• Strong research background in relationship science and/or well-being science.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis.
Preferred qualifications
• Proficiency in several statistical software programs (e.g., R, SPSS, MPlus).
• Experience with advanced analytic techniques (e.g., latent profile analysis).
• Strong organizational, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional multitasking and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
