Assistant Professor of Psychology (Tenure-Track) Lyon College – Batesville, Arkansas


Lyon College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning in August 2025. Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. in psychology with a specialization in social and/or personality psychology and teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The salary range is $52,000-$61,000, depending on a candidate’s experience. Applicants who will have completed all degree requirements by the start date will be considered. Successful candidates should have a desire to work at a small liberal arts college as well as familiarity with and enthusiasm for liberal arts education.


Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach introductory and advanced social or personality psychology, introductory psychology, and research methods or statistics.
  • Engage in a 21 load-hour teaching schedule annually.
  • Contribute to the College's robust undergraduate research culture by mentoring students and maintaining a scholarly agenda that involves them.
  • Serve on College committees, advise psychology majors, and participate in recruiting, curricular development, and assessment efforts.
  • Engage in service beyond the campus.
