Academic Positions: Assistant Professor

Job Purpose:

Teach courses, perform research, and fulfill service mission for the Department of Counseling and Psychology. Tennessee Tech is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. 

Essential Functions:

Teaching undergraduate courses in Psychology including, but not limited to, Experimental Psychology, Information Literacy in Psychology, Senior Thesis and courses in area of specialization; engage in active scholarly research agenda (with human participants) with emphasis on inclusion of undergraduate students; supervision of student research; service on University and Departmental committees; and service to community and professional organizations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Ph.D in Psychology. University teaching experience, proficiency in use of SPSS and capacity to guide a variety of undergraduate research projects involving human participants. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching research/experimental methods and mentoring undergraduate student research projects involving human participants. 

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2025. Benefits include the accumulation of one (1) sick leave day per month and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401 k, and educational benefits. Deferred income and benefits over 12 months.
