Company & Department Overview

Maritz is a people company, grounding everything we do in the scientific study of human behavior. With 123 years of experience in human motivation and memorable experiences, Maritz knows what drives people. Familiar with the iconic tradition of the gold watch for retirement? Maritz invented that in 1929. Today, we continue to be a leading provider of incentive, reward, events and experience, helping over a third of the Fortune 100 firms bring out the best in their stakeholders, through a deep understanding of what makes people tick.

The Behavioral Science & Innovation division (BSI) at Maritz is a center of excellence that tests, applies, and surfaces behavioral science insights throughout our client solutions. Led by the industry’s first Chief Behavioral Officer, this team also oversees the Maritz Field Research Collaborative, a program bridging the gap between academic behavioral theory and applied solution practice. We are evolving the collective understanding of what really works, by conducting controlled experiments within Maritz’ large-scale programs designed to influence positive behavior through incentive, reward, and experience design. BSI is unleashing Maritz’ potential to be the “nudge unit” of industry.
